Today's Vision...Tomorrow's Reality

A Foundation for Progress

Types of Gifts

Cash. The most popular and convenient way to give is a cash gift. It has an immediate impact on the campaign's abilities to reach the projected goals and begin building these much-needed facilities. Checks made out to either McCook College Foundation or North Platte Community College Foundation can be directed as an unspecified or designated gift.

Pledges. Pledges offer the opportunity to make a larger gift possible by spreading payments over a three-to five-year period. Most pledges begin with an initial donation with the balance paid over a specific time.

Matching Gift. Check to see if your employer (or spouse's employer) matches employee donations to qualified nonprofit organizations like the McCook College Foundation or North Platte Community College Foundation. Some even double or triple employee gifts.

Stocks & Bonds. Securities that have appreciated in value offer tax advantages that makes giving them highly attractive. Securities are deductible to the extent of their market value on the date of the gifting and subject to the usual charitable gift limitations.

Future Gifts

Bequests. A gift of cash or property made through a will or living trust ensures a tradition of giving that will continue after the donor's lifetime. Either College Foundation can be named as a beneficiary of an estate, as the recipient of a stated dollar amount, or as a residual beneficiary.

Life Insurance. A life insurance policy provides the opportunity to make a substantial gift. A policy that is no longer required for its original purpose may be transferred to either Foundation to directly benefit the College. New policies naming the either College Foundation as beneficiary may be developed as long term planned giving.

Remainder Trusts & Annuities. Both are income plans that allow the donor to make a gift while retaining the income for his or her lifetime (or a term of years) or for the lifetime of a named beneficiary.
