NPCC Student Senate plans inaugural 'Soup Cook-Off' on March 5
1/15/10
A small group of students at North Platte Community College is hoping to make a big impact on the community in the coming months with a fundraiser designed to benefit North Platte's Lincoln Connection homeless shelter.
The NPCC Student Senate organization is planning an inaugural "Soup Cook-Off" from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, March 5, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church Hall in North Platte. The event, which is being modeled after the annual United Way Chili Cook-Off, will give local businesses the opportunity to cook up their best soups, don costumes, and decorate booths in a competition to benefit the Lincoln Connection and earn bragging rights for having the best soup in town.
