According to Chuck Salestrom, Area Associate Vice President of Marketing, Public Information and Development, this is a great way for students to complete a number of college credit hours in a short period of time.
"This is a great way to take classes because you basically immerse yourself in the class for a short time and you're finished before you know it," he said.
A wide variety of courses in areas such as math, science, history, social sciences and English will be offered for students whose goal is to transfer to a four-year institution. These classes include Math for Health Occupations; Algebra; Applied Calculus; Survey of Chemistry; American History; College Prep Writing; Expository Writing; Literature of Nature; Greek Mythology; American Government and Politics; General Biology; Lifespan Development; Human Relations – People Skills; Ecology/Environment; Art Appreciation; and numerous others.

The North Platte Community College Lady Knights will soon be taking their talents into the kitchen as they bake thousands of sticky buns for the Nebraskaland Days Sweet Saloon.
The Sweet Saloon has been a favorite part of the Nebraskaland Days celebration for many years. Eight years ago, the NPCC Lady Knights took on the event as a fundraiser for their Boost-Her club.
Initially, the baking and selling process took place at the college, but it didn't take long to figure out they needed more room. A move to McDaid Elementary solved the space problem and brought the gooey sticky buns closer to the hungry customers that line up for them each year. According to Lady Knights volleyball coach Sally Thalken, the process now runs fairly smoothly thanks to adequate facilities, numerous volunteers and the help of the Lady Knights players.
The sticky buns will be available from 7 to 10 a.m. on June 11-13 and are $18 per dozen. Preorders are encouraged beginning Wednesday, June 5, by calling (308) 535-3701. Orders should be called in by 10 a.m. the day prior to pick up. A limited amount of rolls are available for purchase on a first come, first served basis.
Reserved rolls can be picked up at McDaid Activity Center, the NPCC South Campus, the Do-It Center, the Sports Shoppe, and Westfield Pharmacy. Please be sure to state your pick-up location preference when ordering the sweet rolls.
You won't want to miss this opportunity to enjoy a mouthwatering sweet roll and support the fundraising efforts of the NPCC Lady Knights athletic program.
