Cowboy Kickball will raise money for MPCC Rodeo Team

Proceeds from the NEBRASKAland Days Cowboy Kickball competition will be given to the Mid-Plains Community College Rodeo Team to use as it sees fit.

The event is scheduled for 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Wild West Arena in North Platte.

It's the second year for the kickball contest. The MPCC Rodeo Team benefited from the event last year as well.

"NEBRASKAland Days is an organization that bases its mission on upholding western traditions," said Bill Troshynski, NLD board president. "Rodeo, obviously, is a big part of that. NLD has developed a close relationship with the MPCC Rodeo Team, and board members believe donating entry fee proceeds to the team is one of the best things we could do with the money."

The deadline to sign up for cowboy kickball has passed. Twelve teams were signed up as of Monday afternoon.
