Nursing students to host benefit bake sale

Nursing students at North Platte Community College will host a bake sale Monday to benefit one of their own, Cassey Lum, who was injured in a motor vehicle accident earlier this month.

"Cassey was a nursing student in our program and is a respected member of the community," said Lana Albrecht-Watson, nurse educator. "Several of our students also know her as a nurse at the hospital, and they wanted to do something to help offset her medical expenses."

The college's chapters of the Nebraska State Student Nurses Association and Licensed Practical Nursing Association of Nebraska will spread the bake sale across both of NPCC's campuses.

On the South Campus, they will be set up in the hallway of the Health and Science Center and at the fireplace area in the McDonald-Belton Building. On the North Campus, they will be set up across from the Welcome Center in the W.W. Wood Building.

Sales at all locations will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. All of the proceeds will go to Lum.
