Tomanek honored for NCIA service

Dr. Jody Tomanek has been recognized for her service in Region 5 of the National Council of Instructional Administrators (NCIA). 

Tomanek is the area vice president of academic affairs for Mid-Plains Community College. She is also the vice president of North Platte Community College. 

"NCIA is fortunate to have Jody and the leadership and experience that she provides to help address the current and future issues of community colleges," said Dr. Dennis Headrick, president of the NCIA. 

The NCIA is an affiliate council of the American Association of Community Colleges. In addition to promoting professional development and enhancing the performance of instructional administrators, the NCIA serves as the national voice for community college instructional administrators in policy planning and decision making. 

Region 5 consists of Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, North Dakota and South Dakota.

Heather produces and distributes press releases for the college. She began work at MPCC in 2014. Prior to that, she spent five years as the news director/web manager for Eagle Radio in North Platte. From 2009-2014 she worked as a reporter/photographer for The North Platte Telegraph. Heather has a bachelor's degree in journalism from Chadron State College.
