Fugate receives keys to auction house

Al Fugate, of North Platte, receives the keys to the 2017 North Platte Community College Foundation Auction House.

Pictured left to right are Roger Fattig, building construction instructor, Fugate and Dr. Jody Tomanek, area vice president of academic affairs and vice president of NPCC.

Fugate submitted the winning bid of $131,501 for the home in May. On Tuesday, the house was relocated from NPCC's North Campus to a permanent site.

Proceeds from the sale will go toward scholarships for students in the college's Building Construction, Electrical and Heating Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC-R) Technology programs. They are the ones who built the house – an ongoing tradition since 1971.

A similar home is currently under construction.
