An Amherst woman is North Platte Community College's Business Student of the Month for November.

Jessica Eckhout graduated from Amherst High School in 2016. She is currently studying business administration with an emphasis in entrepreneurship at NPCC.

"I chose to attend NPCC because I got a volleyball scholarship," said Eckhout. "I returned this year because the teachers are very nice and helpful. NPCC has helped me realize academic abilities that I didn't know I had. The instructors truly want to see me and the other students succeed, which pushes me to be better."

The instructors have enjoyed working with her as well.

"Jessica is a very hardworking and dedicated student," said Jean Condon, Business/Office Technology instructor at NPCC. "It has been a pleasure getting to know her and watching her educational goals develop. She has a bright future ahead of her."

Eckhout will graduate from NPCC in May and already has a job lined up.

"In December I will be taking a full-time position as the client care coordinator for Home Instead Senior Care in North Platte," said Eckhout. "I am going to take CNA classes in January to help better my knowledge in my new position."

Eckhout is a member of NPCC's Phi Theta Kappa chapter. Her hobbies include helping others, fishing, shopping and hanging out with her friends and family.

Her parents are Jay Eckhout and Holly and Greg Mead.
