Pre-orders start June 4 for Sweet Saloon

The Sweet Saloon will accept pre-orders for cinnamon rolls online beginning June 4. Purchases can be made at with a credit or debit card.

The North Platte Community College Lady Knights Volleyball Team hosts the Sweet Saloon every year during NEBRASKAland Days.

Team members, coaches and volunteers spend days baking "melt-in-your-mouth" cinnamon rolls, the proceeds from which supplement volleyball scholarships.

The players then deliver the rolls and oversee pick-up sites at McDaid Elementary, the Do-It Center, Westfield Pharmacy, Sports Shoppe and the Welcome Center on NPCC's South Campus.

Phone orders can be placed from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 10-12 by calling 535-3696 and leaving a message. In-person orders will also be accepted during that time at McDaid Elementary, but it's recommended that people call in or order online instead to ensure that rolls are available.

The cost is $18 per dozen for phone and online orders, and $20 for walk-ins. Cinnamon rolls can be delivered for an extra $2.

This year the Sweet Saloon is sponsored by the Hiland Dairy Foods Company.
