Advising
Advising is available in person, by walk in or by appointment (preferred) at all of our campus locations. Appointments can be made by calling (308)535-3701 for North Platte or (308)345-8108 for McCook. Advising is also available by phone or by emailing advising@mpcc.edu Students may work with their faculty advisor or any general academic advisor. For faculty advisor contact information, go to your MyCampusWeb student page.
Reasons to contact an Academic Advisor:
- To discuss your program of study
- To register for classes
- To discuss the need for accommodations if you have a disability
- To discuss class progress and aid in finding tutors or other support
- To assist in dropping, adding, and withdrawing from a class or classes
- To get information on transferring, programs of study,
and other educational information - To complete the Intent to Graduate form
To discuss your Program of Study
- Visit with an advisor regarding your program of study requirements
or
- Go to MyCampusWeb under the Student tab – Advising – Degree Audit to review your program of study requirements
To register for classes (and set up your schedule each term)
- New students must register through an advisor
- Returning students may register via MyCampusWeb
To request accommodations
If you are a person with a disability and require an accommodation while attending this college, please contact Advising or MPCC’s ADA Office

To get help with Classes
- Discuss issue with your instructor
- Discuss issue with an advisor
- Contact Student Success Center for tutoring
- If you received an Early Alert, this indicates you are at risk and should follow the above steps
- If you received accommodations/disability services/ resource services in high school, contact an advisor
To Drop or withdraw from a class
- If classes have not begun, you can drop your class yourself by logging onto MyCampusWeb or you can contact an advisor (by phone, email or in person) to help you
- If classes have begun, you must contact an advisor to help you add, drop, or withdraw from a class (if withdraw deadline has not passed)

To Prepare for Graduation
- When you register for your last term of classes, complete the Intent to Graduate form and take it to your advisor for review
To Review Other Educational Opportunities beyond MPCC
- Discuss options with a MPCC advisor
- Contact an advisor at your transfer school of choice
