MCC Hosting Region IX South Volleyball Tourney
Four Colorado college volleyball teams and two from Nebraska will square off when McCook Community College hosts the three-day 2012 Region IX South post-season tournament.

Western Community College (Scottsbluff) is the top seed with a 34-2 mark, followed by Northeastern Junior College (Sterling, Colo.) at 17-18. Two games are set for Thursday, six on Friday and two or three games will be played Saturday in the double-elimination format Nov. 1-3.
MCC (No. 6 seed, 6-28) will kick off the tournament Thursday with a 5 p.m. contest against (No. 3) Otero Junior College (23-15) while (No. 4) Lamar Junior College (16-19) faces (No. 5) Trinidad Junior College (17-19) in the second game at 7 p.m.
Six games are set for Friday starting with the MCC-Otero winner taking on No. 2 Northeastern at 9 a.m.
Top seeded Western Community College, a team which went 10-0 in the South Division, takes on the winner of the Lamar-Trinidad game at 11 a.m.
Elimination games are set for 1 and 3 p.m. Friday with the winners of those games squaring off at 7 p.m.
The championship bracket finals are set for 5 p.m.
Saturday games will start at 10 a.m. with the loser’s bracket finals. The first championship match is set for 1 p.m. with a second game to follow if necessary.
