Student Success Centers
Student Success Centers are located on the campuses of North Platte Community College and McCook Community College. The Centers provide a variety of services to students including tutors for all students (including online students!), proctored examinations, COMPASS testing, controlled study environment, computer access, and career assessment and planning. Professional staff is available to assist students in the instructional and career services area.

STUDYING materials and other resources are available to students in the Success Centers. These include computers with Internet, reference books, Spanish-English dictionaries, and class schedule catalogs.
TEACHING tools are available in the SSC, such as computer tutorials, and Tutors & Lab Assistants to help with homework questions.
UNDECLARED students may visit with advisors about their goals, take the CareerScope assessment to discover strengths and interests, and search career education databases such as NCC & NCIS for free.
DECISION-MAKING skills may be honed by attending periodic “mini-sessions” offered by SSC/CareerSevices/Advisors on topics such as: note & test taking strategies; resume writing; time management, interviewing, etc. Keep an eye out for posters and emails about upcoming “mini-sessions” !

NETWORKING in college and life can be vital. The Success Center is a good place to meet fellow students and get to know teachers or advisors— all will help you succeed. The advisors and SSC director are there to aid students in becoming familiar with the necessary steps to achieve your goals.
