Welcome Parents to Mid Plains Community College.

MPCC is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and offers a variety of nationally and internationally recognized quality programs.

MPCC consists of 3 campuses located in the heartland of rural Nebraska.

At our college, we offer quality education in a quiet rural setting that still offers all the amenities of a large city. We have excellent health care, stimulating activities as well as shopping and dining opportunities within a scenic prairie environment. Experience the West and Nebraska's unique attractions: Rodeos, barbeques, The Oregon Trail, NebraskaLand Days, chili feeds, and historic monuments to name a few. Our campuses are located in North Platte (two campuses) and McCook (one campus).

​​Admissions

MPCC is an open entry school. This means that any student who meets our Admissions standards will be admitted to MPCC.

Please note that while the college is open-entry, specific programs may have entry requirements that must be met before the student may begin the program. It is important to realize that some programs may have waiting lists.

Freshmen

Here is a list to help your student start their first year off right

  1. Apply Online (see home page)
  2. Forward official high school transcript or GED to MPCC Admissions Office.
  3. Take a placement examCOMPASS, ACT, SAT, ASSET, etc.
    (NOTE: Application, Official Transcript, and Placement Exam must received by the time a degree-seeking student completes one semester of coursework.)
  4. Plan to attend a New Student Orientation Registration Day to meet with an advisor, register for your classes, meet with financial aid, and tour campus, OR
  5. Schedule an individual campus visit.

Transfer

Contact your child's previous colleges and request that official transcripts be mailed to:

Generally, within two weeks of the date of receipt of their official transcript(s), a summary of the credit that has been accepted will be mailed to their mpcc.edu e-mail address and the credit will be viewable within their "Unofficial Transcript" option within CampusWeb.

Make sure you keep in mind these important deadlines and dates.
