Are you looking for continuing education credits, professional development, or personal enrichment classes? The Mid-Plains Center for Enterprise at North Platte Community College invites you to join us in one or more of the following classes.
Real Estate Principles & Practice - This introductory class explores the field of real estate, providing a comprehensive look at the entire real estate field, covering terminology, concepts of real estate law, finance, appraisal, taxation, estates in land, legal instruments, brokerage and management. The course is approved by the Nebraska Real Estate Commission (30 hours credit for pre-license educational requirements). Class fee does not include the required textbook, which is available through the Center for Enterprise office. Student will receive two credit hours upon successful completion of this course.
Class meets from 6 to 9 p.m. on Monday and Thursdays, Jan. 27 through March 3 at the North Campus, instructed by Barb Booth. Class fee is $199.
Driver Education - Driver Education is an essential first step to learning safe, lifelong driving skills. Driver Education teaches teens basic traffic laws, driver awareness, rules of the road, and basic motor vehicle operation. This course consists of 20 hours of classroom time and five hours of driving time as required by the Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles. The class prepares drivers for licensure by awarding a Drive Test Waiver upon satisfactory completion. Minimum student age is 14. Students must attend all sessions, have a learner’s permit before attending class, and meet all drive requirements in order to obtain the drive test waiver. EMDR Therapy – What is EMDR therapy? EMDR Therapy is a relatively new method of doing psychotherapy. EMDR has helped more than half a million people of all ages relieve many different types of psychological distress. Guaranteed Better Photography - Designed for novice or advanced, in this exciting course you will learn how you can immediately get better photos-guaranteed-while improving your shooting technique! We will cover topics such as holding the camera tricks for sharper images, using dramatic light, developing your eye, exposure, white balance and more! You will soon find yourself capturing more keepers while gaining more confidence. Pre-registration with payment is required before attending class. Digital Photography Made Easy - Designed for novice or advanced, the course will help you use your camera's fundamental features to positively impact the images you capture! We will cover image quality, memory, flash and exposure control, focusing for desired results, scene modes, and much more. Pre-registration with payment is required before attending class. You must cancel 48 hours prior to class to receive full refund.
Class meets from 7:30 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Feb 6, at the South Campus, instructed by the Camera Doctor. Class fee is $55.
Basic Computer Skills – This class is designed for individuals who have not used a computer before. Members of this class will learn how to turn on a computer, a monitor and the four basic functions of a mouse. Within the class time the students will be given ample time to use the mouse and "play" with a program that helps them learn proper mouse handling and skills. This class will prepare the student to take the Beginning Computer Skills class.
Class meets from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Feb 10, at the North Campus, instructed by April Fager. Class fee is $25.
