Are you looking for continuing education credits, professional development, or personal enrichment classes? The Mid-Plains Center for Enterprise at North Platte Community College invites you to join us in one or more of the following classes.
Commercial Driving License (CDL) – This is a 15-hour course that will help prepare you for taking your basic CDL written tests. Areas covered include: general knowledge, pre-trip inspections, air brakes, combination vehicles, and transporting cargo safely. Students have the opportunity to add 1.5 hours of driving at an additional cost – please indicate this at registration if you are interested. This course is approved and instructed by Nebraska Safety Center.
Class meets from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, April 3-4, at the North Campus, instructed by Dennis Holtz. Class fee is $189; $265 with driving.
Basic Microsoft Outlook – Students will learn how to read, create, send, and forward email messages. Students will then learn how to manage messages and attachments, configure message options, and use search folders. Students will also learn how to manage contacts, work with tasks, create appointments, and schedule meetings.
Class meets from 6 to 9 p.m. on Monday, March 31, at the North Campus, instructed by April Fager. Class fee is $39.
Kindle Fire Basics - Learn the basics behind the popular e-reader in this user-friendly, introductory Kindle Fire class. Bring your Kindle Fire and discover how to use the lending library, find best-selling books and magazines, and discover secrets to finding free or inexpensive apps. This class is for beginner Kindle users. Please register your kindle before class.
Class meets from 6 to 9 p.m. on Monday, March 31, at the South Campus, instructed by Sharon Kircher. Class fee is $29.
ACT Test Prep – These seminars are offered the week before an ACT Test and will feature a review of math and English skills, as well as test taking tips. The two-hour math session will include a review of algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and problem solving skills. The English session will include grammar, usage, punctuation, and test taking strategies.
Class will meet from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, at the South Campus, instructed by Jean Miller and Jim Sandau. Class fee is $35.
