Bellevue University Programs
Bellevue University provides quality liberal arts and business undergraduate and graduate programs throughout Nebraska. Mid-Plains Community College graduates can apply their associate’s degree or previous college credit toward completion of a bachelor’s degree in as little as 15 months, online or in class, right here in North Platte and McCook. Also, we have many ways to help you earn the credit you need to start your accelerated degree completion program as quickly as possible. If you have a bachelor’s degree, you can complete a master’s degree in 16 to 18 months.
We understand the needs of adults seeking to complete their degrees while balancing work, family and civic responsibilities. Our accelerated degree completion programs help you earn your bachelor’s degree at a faster pace, while keeping pace with the realities of your life. And, our programs are focused on you…what you learn here, how you learn it, and how applying what you learn will help you meet your life goals.
When you enroll in your accelerated bachelor’s degree completion program, you will move through your courses with a group of adults like you…who are intent on completing their degrees and who bring real experience to the classroom.

Chadron State College Programs
As the only four-year institution of higher education in western Nebraska, Chadron State College has cultivated a strong partnership with Mid–Plains Community College. Over the years, many MPCC graduates have chosen to pursue their bachelor’s and master’s degree at CSC.
In addition to a strong commitment to its residential programs, CSC provides numerous bachelor degree completion programs through distance learning. Undergraduate degree completion programs available via distance learning include Accounting, Business, Elementary Education, Library Information Management, Management, Management Information Systems, Marketing/Entrepreneurship, Mathematics and Psychology. Master’s degree programs are available in business and organizational management. Most courses are available online with the Elementary Education program available through a combination of online, interactive television and face-to-face delivery. Some courses are also available through self-study correspondence.
In addition to the seamless transfer of most MPCC courses into a bachelor’s degree program, CSC also accepts the Associate of Arts degree from Mid-Plains Community College as completion of all CSC general studies requirements except for two courses.

Chadron State College was founded in 1911 as a publicly supported college. From its early years as a teacher’s college, CSC has evolved into a dynamic comprehensive undergraduate and graduate degree-granting college with nearly 100 programs of study and numerous pre-professional programs. Approximately 2,900 students are enrolled at the college. CSC is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
Fort Hays State University Programs
Fort Hays State University and Mid-Plains Community College’s partnership works because of you, the student, who is ready to work hard to be the best.
Fort Hays State University (FHSU) will accept every credit from your Mid-Plains Community College Associates Degree. You will have the opportunity to pursue a degree on the Hays, KS campus or through one of the 40 degree programs offered online through FHSU’s Virtual College. FHSU also participates in a contiguous state program which grants students from surrounding states a reduced tuition rate. The best part for you is that FHSU’s tuition, whether online or through the Contiguous State Programs, is one of the most affordable options you can find.
Fort Hays State University is a liberal arts, state-assisted institution in western Kansas (a little over two hours from McCook) with an enrollment of approximately 13,000 students. FHSU has four colleges — Arts and Sciences; Education and Technology; Business and Leadership; and Health and Life Sciences — plus a Graduate School. It also offers a Virtual College, which delivers courses electronically throughout Kansas and beyond. Students at FHSU have the opportunity to select a major field of study from 30 departments and study in an electronic environment throughout the campus. The Mid-Plains Community College Center for Enterprise, located at 1101 Halligan Drive in North Platte and the Hormel Center at 1205 East Third Street in McCook, is committed to helping the region’s economy grow, prosper and remain steadfast. It provides:

Adult Education (AE)
MPCC has been designated by the Nebraska Department of Education as a coordinating center for Adult Education. AE’s focus is tutoring for adults in basic literacy skills: reading, writing, math, listening, speaking; ELP (English Literacy Program); and GED (General Educational Development). AE is offered on a non-credit basis at no charge. AE programs are organized in many of the communities in the Mid-Plains Community College service area. MPCC provides opportunities for area high school students to plan a program of study designed to prepare students for the transition from secondary to postsecondary education and training programs. Career academies contain a blend of high school and college credit classes. MPCC offers academies in Health Science, Education, Business, Agriculture, Engineering and Information Technology. General Educational Development (GED®)
Specific age, identification and application requirements must be met in order to begin GED testing in Nebraska. The computer-based testing (CBT) is administered at GED Testing Service approved Pearson VUE Testing Centers. Successful completion of the GED test battery at an approved test center is required to receive the State of Nebraska Department of Education High School Diploma. The test battery consists of the following timed tests: Reasoning Through Language Arts, Science, Social Studies and Mathematical Reasoning. Testing centers are located at McCook Community College and North Platte Community College-North Campus. An individual can study for the GED tests by enrolling in the free Adult Education program.
