McCook Community college is offering a wide-range of customized fire/emergency training aimed at addressing safety concerns for not only firefighters, but for businesses and members of the community as well.

Classes can be set up to meet group or business needs.

Topics include: grain bin safety, vehicle extrication, farm vehicle extrication, general safety, firefighter accountability, rapid intervention, size-up, firefighter survival, grain bin rescue, vehicle fires, ventilation, fire ground communication and rural water supply issues.

Tim Zehnder, MPCC Director of Fire Science, has already offered an interactive course, to address keeping firefighters safer, offering videos and photographs from actual events that have happened around the country.

He's also developed a three-hour presentation on fire ground safety, including the following topics: driving/seatbelts, building construction, changing fire conditions, incident command systems, standard operating procedures, resources, lack of training, and physical fitness.

If you'd like to have Zehnder present a topic to your organization or business, contact him at 308-345-8126.
