Student Organizations and Activities

Mid-Plains Community College offers a wide range of student clubs, organizations, and activities for all students to become involved in on campus. 

Student clubs and organizations are set up to help students develop leadership, service, fellowship, and to enhance a student's college experience overall.  

Student Life at MPCC offers a variety of opportunities that:

Throughout the year many activities are hosted by the various campus clubs and organizations as well as Residence Life and Student Life. All activities are FREE for students to attend.

The Licensed Practical Nurses Association of Nebraska MPCC chapter is a student organization for the Licensed Practical Nursing students to join to network around the state with other student nurses, practicing LPN's and potential employers. The MPCC chapter focuses on providing community service to our area, hosting fundraisers, and health-related educational experiences. All pre-nursing and nursing students are welcome to join.

The Nebraska State Student Nurse's Association MPCC chapter is part of a National Organization designed specifically for student Registered Nurses. The MPCC chapter works in conjunction with the Licensed Practical Nurses Association of Nebraska to provide community service, fundraising, and health-related educational experiences. The members are involved with the local chapter and encouraged to be active in the State chapter. Attendance at State and National conventions are also potential activities for members. All pre-nursing and nursing students are welcome to join.

Not Your Average Theatre Group is what you want it to be. You can engage in anything from performances of scripts to improvisation and monologues. You get to work as if you are an actual theatre company, from budgeting, marketing to the final performance.

Phi Theta Kappa is an academic honor society with chapters in McCook and in North Platte.  Students are invited to join the organization when they have earned a minimum of 12 credit hours within the institution and have maintained a minimum grade point average of 3.5. PTK students are involved in various service projects and attend conferences during the academic year.

The Mid-Plains Community College STEM Club works in the community to promote interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. We host science activities for local students at the college, perform science shows and demonstrations at area schools, and we sponsor various service projects. We also provide opportunities for college and high school students to meet and interact with scientists and engineers in diverse fields.

The YardRake is NPCC’s online magazine. We accept submissions of prose, poetry, photography, visual arts, audio, and pretty much any creative item you can imagine. We feature student work from every MPCC campus, including online students and dual-credit high school students.

MPCC prides itself on providing numerous intramural activities throughout the year. The colleges offer a wide variety of intramural activities for both men and women. Interested students are encouraged to get out and participate in the many intramural events throughout the year. Watch for details on campus for tournaments and starting times!
