Area youth gain basic skills at Knights Basketball Camp

North Platte Community College’s McDonald-Belton Gym was full this week as area youth participated in the annual Kevin O’Connor Knights Basketball Camp.

The camp, which was open to boys and girls in grades 2-5 in the mornings and grades 6-9 in the afternoons, began Monday and concluded Wednesday.

The goal of it was to provide participants with a general understanding of the game of basketball and to help them improve fundamental skills. Training focused on shooting, passing, ball handling, rebounding and individual offensive and defensive skills as well as attitude development.
