The McCook Community College volleyball team helped raise nearly $700 for “Stella Night” at the Sept. 30 match against Otero.

The team hosted the fund-raising night to bring awareness and support to Stella McConnell, a local kindergarten student, who is battling cancer. Through the sale of unicorn-themed doughnuts and popcorn the team was able to forward the proceeds to the McConnell family.

Just prior to the match, both teams and all the fans in attendance gathered on the west side of the Peter and Dolores Graff Events Center bleachers for an extended “Team Stella” photo.
