Try It Out Thursday a hit with local youth

The class was one of three offered throughout the afternoon as part of the Try It Out Thursday program. In addition to making the catapults, Mad Science participants extracted DNA from strawberries and made ice cream in a bag. 

Down the hall, in the Kindness is Cool class, students decorated tote bags, jars, rocks and postcards to show their appreciation for family and friends. 

Later in the day, they also transformed white canvas shoes into works of art through the Totally Tie-Dyed class.

Try It Out Thursday workshops will continue throughout the month, offering a variety of youth activities.
