Administrative positions are twelve-month positions and may begin immediately. Faculty positions begin with the fall term, and are on 175-day contracts with overload and summer teaching possible. Position: McCook Community College is seeking a hard-working, organized, and student-centered professional to serve on our Learning Commons Team and assist faculty and staff to identify high-risk students and assist them in achieving success. This role will also provide success coaching on various academic skills such as time management, test taking, and more. The position will coordinate events and programming for the McCook Learning Commons in collaboration with other staff and serve as Learning Commons athletic liaison for student athletes. This dual role is also responsible for overseeing all the aspects of recruiting and retaining a successful college women’s softball team. Successful applicants should possess high quality coaching techniques including demonstrate excellent sportsmanship, a commitment to success in the classroom, and the ability to interact with the community in positive ways. This position is split with 70% focused on Success Coach and 30% focused on coaching.

Position: Mid-Plains Community College is now accepting applications for the position of Part-Time Learning Commons and Early Entry Assistant. Responsibilities include but are not limited to staffing the front desk of the Learning Commons on a rotating basis and assisting with Early Entry admissions and registration processing. Position: Responsible for the development and expansion of high school partnerships. The position works closely with high school counselors to build enrollment and create career academies to assist in recruitment of full-time MPCC students following high school graduation. Duties include, but are not limited to, collaboration with high schools throughout the 18-county service area to encourage enrollment in dual credit and early entry courses, advising Early Entry students, creating course schedules, utilize Jenzabar reports, tracking of enrollments and student progress as well as assisting with the Admissions process.

Position: The full-time athletic communications specialist will design, write and produce promotional materials, including press releases, programs and media guides.

This position will also respond to requests for information from media personnel and the public, distribute promotional materials, such as brochures and press kits, and disseminate information via appropriate media channels.

The athletic communications specialist will be expected to plan, coordinate and assist with special events, including media days for the McCook and North Platte Community College athletic teams.

The person hired will also be required to develop and maintain close contact with local media, organize press conferences, set up interviews, respond to questions from the media and the public and manage results and statistics.

Other responsibilities include organizing and supervising photo sessions for all sports and performing miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned such as coordinating game day graphics, posters, pocket schedules.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate degree and demonstrated experience required. Applicants must possess knowledge of college level men’s and women’s basketball, women’s volleyball and softball, men’s baseball and golf. In addition, they must possess strong writing and grammar skills, be an excellent communicator, and have basic research abilities and the ability to track coaching and athlete records. Must be skilled in basic computer applications, specifically MS Office products and general knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud programs. Applicants must be highly organized, skilled in digital photography, and be willing to work nights and weekends. Experience working with the media and in videography is preferred. Must have a positive attitude with a high level of professionalism and courteousness to represent MPCC in a quality way. The Athletic Communications Specialist is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by MPCC and the NJCAA.

Qualifications:

The preferred Candidate will have an associate degree in electrical with five years documented work experience in an electrical related field with commercial installations. A State of Nebraska Journeyman electrical license is preferred but an apprentice with experience will be considered. Basic computer skills, good communications skills and valid driver’s license required. Other related maintenance experience in plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry is preferred but not required. Candidate should be able and willing to learn additional technical skills including expanding their electrical skills to the next level.
