Those who donate blood at North Platte Community College April 10 will automatically receive a $10 eGift card to a merchant of their choice. They will also be entered for a chance to win a $7,000 gift card.

NPCC will host the American Red Cross from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the concessions area of the McDonald-Belton Building on the NPCC South Campus, 601 W. State Farm Rd. The event is open to the public.

The need for donations is ongoing. Whether for a chronic condition, such as sickle cell disease, a surgical procedure or a large-scale emergency, it’s the blood already on the shelves that helps save lives.

As April is National Minority Health Month, giving blood doubles as an opportunity to reduce health disparities that continue to affect historically underserved communities.

Donors are encouraged to make an appointment ahead of the NPCC blood drive by using the free American Red Cross Blood Donor App, by visiting, by calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or by enabling the Blood Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device.

A blood donor card, driver’s license or two other forms of identification will be required at check-in.
