Tessa Metschke, North Platte Community College’s 2023 student commencement speaker, gives an address during NPCC’s commencement ceremony Friday afternoon in the McDonald-Belton Gymnasium. Her focus was on the support she has received during her time at the college.

“Reflecting on my two years [at NPCC], I feel that the faculty, staff and students display their support for each other across multiple facets,” said Metschke. “The community-like feel of this college is not like others. Instructors, staff and students know each other, engage in conversations and truly care. These individuals have cheered us on at sporting events, watched play productions, supported us during fundraisers and challenged us academically.”

A total of 284 students were recognized during the ceremony for earning a degree, diploma or certificate.
