Richter and McGee grab all-around titles at Triton Stampede

Fort Dodge, Iowa – The Mid-Plains Community College rodeo team traveled to Fort Dodge, Iowa, for the Triton Stampede last weekend.

The men’s team finished second in the team standings, while the women’s team wrapped up the rodeo with a fourth-place finish.

Jace Richter notched a pair of first-place finishes in the tie down and team roping events alongside Ryan Shepherd to claim the men’s all-around title.

Madison McGee finished fourth in breakaway and second in team roping with her partner Lathan DeMontigny (North Dakota State) to garner the all-around women’s title.

Jackson Lunn continued his dominance in the bareback event, finishing atop the podium with a score of 151. Teammate Kahiwa Augustiro stepped into the chute and walked away with a third-place finish. Augustiro was just five points behind Mark Sandquist of Bismarck State College who took home the silver buckle.

Cinch Painter led the team in the steer wrestling category with a third-place finish. Koy McAllister and Clayton Meyer added their names to the top five with times of 15.8 and 17.0.

Freshman Trace Scarlavai continued to make his name known in the Great Plains Region, as he took home the gold buckle in the bull riding event.

The MPCC rodeo team will conclude the fall season at the North Dakota State University Rodeo beginning Oct. 25.
