The 2026 North Platte Community College raffle car, a 1964 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu SS, will spend the remainder of its summer tour at the Nebraska State Fair in Grand Island.

The Malibu will be on display inside the Pinnacle Bank Expo Center from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 28 through September 6 and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 7. The public will have the opportunity to view and purchase tickets for the car at that time.

New this year, tickets may be purchased online via a debit card through the mpcc.edu website.

About the car

The 1964 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu SS is the 21st raffle car restored by students in NPCC’s Automotive Technology and Auto Body Technology programs.

The vehicle features a PPG northern lights and space gray paint scheme, a custom hood, a Ford 9-inch rear end, tubular front and rear suspension, a 396-cubic-inch engine equipped with a roller camshaft and valvetrain producing 375 horsepower and a 700R4 transmission.

Additional information

The Malibu toured the state throughout the summer, making appearances at car shows, parades and cruise night events.

A total of 10,000 raffle tickets are for sale at a cost of $10 each. Proceeds will be used for scholarships for students in the college’s transportation programs and to help offset the cost of producing the next raffle car project.

The drawing for the Malibu will be at 2 p.m. Sept. 12 during the annual Colonel Cody’s Cruise Show and Shine in Memorial Park, in North Platte, Neb.
